Avalon Organics (or Hain Celestial, who owns them now) have stamped a “NEW More Sustainable” logo on all of the Avalon cosmetic products. They have drastically changed the formulation of the products I used to use, possibly so they are cheaper to manufacture. This Vitamin C Renewal Creme, which I’ve used for years, now contains sodium benzoate, which when combined with ascorbic acid (vitamin C) can form benzene, a carcinogen. Probably not a good idea to add sodium benzoate to a product with Vitamin C in the name. It also now irritates my skin, so I am on the hunt for a good product again.

I have order this product, but found little conserning info.

In this product there is combination with ascorbic acid (vitamin C, E300) and sodium benzoate. This mix forms benzene, a known carcinogen.

I was buying cream at a high-end department store was tired of paying $60 for 2 oz. So, I tried this cream and love it — great feel on the skin, minimizes my wrinkles better than the $60 cream. Smells yummy.

I am 65 years and still have the T zone!! This cream calms the reddness and I definitely see a smooth improvement with the wrinkles. This is only after about 2 weeks!!

This cream is great under make up! It smells good. It absobs quickly and immediately makes little lines seem less noticeable!

I have loved this lotion from the first time I used it and have recommended it to many. All have loved it! It is very lightweight and even good under powder makeup! I wear Bare Minerals and it works great. Best moisture that lasts all day and doesn’t feel greasy! I was also very excited for find it here for less than $13.

I use this to remove eye makeup at night and then feel good that it stays on my skin all night. Then I put it around my mouth and on my forehead and neck for good measure. May be a tad greasy for some but not for me and it quickly soaks in. 15 minutes and you don’t know you put it on, I often use a bit more. Softens wrinkles and eye lines, smells extremly nice, certainly a good price. Wish they made it with SPF for day time use. Worth a try for anyone.

Great smell, nice consistency, but everytime I use it without fail I break out. I even went to just putting it under my eyes and started getting eyelid pimples.

i am very disappointed with this product. my face feels hot and burst, also very itchy. i had to wash it away 3 min after i applied it.

I use expensive Lancome moisturizer because that is what worked best on my face but this works even better. Moisturizes w/out making my face breakout. Am 43 have dry skin and somewhat oily t-zone. Smells nice and I plan to buy for my mom to try since she has tried lots of moisturizers and she only uses the same Lancome I use and this will probably work for her at a fraction of the cost.

I ordered 3 products of Vitamin C series from Avalon and none of them was satisfying. It caused some acne trouble on my skin and I dumped it after couple of uses. Will not order again.

I would recommend this lotion to everyone! it dosen’t leave a oil residue. It’s perfect to wear under your makeup. It has a light citrus smell..makes you feel fresh in the morning!!

It’s delightfully light yet rich, gets well absorbed and indeed makes your skin look more radiant. Importantly, it doesn’t irritate even the skin under your eyes. Inexpensive and very good quality.

This is definitely a fabulous moisturizer – smells great, works awesome. I switched from the Avalon Organics lavender moisturizer for sensitive skin only because they don’t sell it on iHerb, and I was worried this might be too intense for my face, as I’m easily prone to breakouts. I have noticed a little bit of flair-up since I’ve been using this, but only in the T-zone. So now only using it on the driest areas of my face, and using only a tiny bit. My skin is softer and I can notice a glow after applying – I just wouldn’t recommend this product to people with highly sensitive, acne-prone skin.

I was amazed by this creme for months, it did wonders for my skin. But then I received a slightly different package, and it seems like whats inside was changed to. My skin burned after using the cream, and it gave me bad breakouts. I continiued to use it for quite some time, it was after all my favourite, but it didnt improve. I wont buy again.

This is a great product. I love the smell and my skin feels invigorated after using it. Vitamin C is supposed to be good for collagen production. I like the fact that it is organic, I don’t feel comfortable using skin creams with chemicals. I would purchase this product again.

It is average product for me. I have ordered it few times but stop using it afterward. I don’t see any difference.

I found nothing special about this. It smells wonderful , like oranges. It is good for an everyday moisturizer, but I didn’t notice any reduction in fine lines. There are better products out there for fine lines at as cheap or cheaper of a price. I will not buy this again.

Unfortunately, this product caused breakouts for me. With the large amount of positive reviews and the good ingredients, I hoped I’d like this.

This cream made my skin react badly, it looked like i had got a huge sunburn. My skin went red and itchy, and my face went two times bigger… And i do NOT have sensetive skin. This cream is also very “fat” so if you have acne or combination skin, don`t use it!

Can smell the orange, not over powering. Effective daily moisturiser. Non greasy. Makes my skin look great. My new favourite face cream.

Good organics

I have been using this for over a year and I love it! It really helps exfoliate your skin. Those little bumps you can get on the back of your arms, it gets rid of those. I use it on my kids arms for that reason. I use it on my face a few times a week. You can’t use it everyday because it is to strong and your face will peel, but I love it!

I love this stuff! It smells wonderful, goes on smoothly and aborbs almost immediately. It’s too soom to see any change in my skin but even if there is none I’ll order again: it’s the best!

This light cream is exactly what my special skin needs, fragrance is exactly right (almost none), and close to none oily rests, which I hate the most. So go for IT!!!

I’ve noticed a difference in both the texture and appearance of my skin since I started using the cream. Skin seems brighter, discolorations seem to be improving and overall I’d say this one’s a keeper.

my skin is quite sensitive (usually use oil-free product) but I don’t have any problem with this product. it is a good moisturizer. I feel very comfortable with my skin during night.

Made my face burn, so I used the rest of the container for a hand moisturizer.

Been using it for about 2 weeks. It’s quite thick and was not suitable for my relatively oily skin. What’s worse though is that once after applying it i received a really weird redness on parts of my face. Never happened to me before. It disappered after about 2 hours, very odd. My husband has also been using it and recently received a rash. Of course we’re not sure if it’s definately from that cream, but are pretty sure it has something to do with it, as he’s hardly ever had such problems.

Smells of citrus, easy to apply and refreshing. However, an average moisturiser with no added benefits.

Originally I gave this cream 5 stars. But after using it for a while, my skin started looking bad. I noticed more redness, fine lines were more visible and the skin just looked unhealthy. I also fount it to burn irritated skin (such as around the nose) and it can’t go anywhere near the eye area (unlike other creams I double use as eye cream).
I will also note it smell very strongly of fake orange. The more I used the product, the more sick I was of the smell.
Many people have mentioned the formula has changed. If this is so, I strongly recommend the company return to the old one…

The cream showed itself extremely comedogenic for my normal skin. Used it for hands at last. Never buy again. Sincerely saying the whole set – Facial toner, Cleansing gel and this cream was an extreme disappointment for me – unnatural smell and low quality products

I’m just about out of my first jar. I can’t go with out it!! I’m 30 years old and would break out every month really bad. i was looking for something new and i’ve found it! i get like one little pimple now, i’m sooo happy!! I don’t care for the smell but because my acne is cleared up, i’ll live with the smell. will buy again and again and again. thank you!
