The connection between hives and kefir…

Kefir has high levels of histamine, so if you have high histamine – then you may get hives or other high histamine reaction, but if you have normal or low histamine – the kefir will be fine, but

What I’ve gathered is that something with kefir specifically, either the microbial action or the types of bacteria/yeasts in the culture have higher histamines that other probiotics, say 24 hour yogurt, and therefore can cause a reaction in individuals with higher than average histamine levels.

Having tried dozens of Probiotics, some of which even made me sick, this Kefiran probiotic has been excellent for relieving stomach and intestinal pain. I couldn’t live without this product for the relief it brings.
